Advises what TOG is best based on room conditions not outside temperature.
Temperature and humidity are the two most critical factors you can control in any baby’s room, and the Glow Perfect Sleep Sensor allows you to monitor this from anywhere in the house, ensuring conditions are always conducive for a safe and comfortable sleep.
Portable monitor can go with you anywhere while baby sleeps, so you are always informed.
Real time information gives real time information to make sure your baby is always sleeping at a safe temperature.
Remote sensor is small and can be safely placed in baby’s room.Temperature and humidity are the two important factors that can impact ourcomfort and health. Here is a brief explanation of these two concepts:
Temperature is a measure of how hot or cold something is. It is typically measured in degrees Celsius (°C) or degrees Fahrenheit (°F). The normal range for body temperature is typically considered to be around 37°C (98.6°F) on average.
Humidity is a measure of the amount of moisture in the air. It is typically measured in percent relative humidity, which indicates the amount of moisture in the air compared to the maximum amount
of moisture the air can hold at a given temperature.
For example, if the relative humidity is 50%, it means that the air is holding half of the moisture it is capable of holding at that temperature.
When the temperature is high and the humidity is also high, the air can feel very muggy and oppressive. This is because the high humidity makes it harder for sweat to evaporate from our skin, which is how our bodies cool down. As a result, we may feel very uncomfortable and may have trouble sleeping.
On the other hand, low humidity can be just as uncomfortable. When the air is dry, it can cause dry skin, chapped lips, and respiratory problems.Ideally, the humidity in our homes and other indoor spaces should be kept between 30-55% for comfort and health.
However, babies have smaller nasal passages and 40%-60% is recommended.
TOG stands for thermal overall grade, which tells you how warm a particular garment or blanket will keep your little one. A garment with a higher TOG rating will help keep your baby warm and is recommended during cold weather. A garment with a lower TOG rating will help your baby keep cool during hot weather.
The Perfect Sleep Sensor also tells you straight away if the humidity is within the ideal range to support deep, relaxing breathing overnight. The humidity number will flash when it is outside the zone. If the humidity is too low, run the Ultrasonic Humidifier on your Glow Sleep Easy to gently increase the humidity and support
that deep, relaxing breathing all night long.
If you have more than one room sensor connected you can set it up to rotate through each room or leave it set to one room. If a room is outside perfect conditions the ch # number above the temp will flash alerting you a different room to the one you are watching is
outside ideal conditions.
To note that children often need humidity to be slightly higher than adults to support deep, relaxing breathing, so we recommend a range of 40-60%.
We also advise on room comfort in the user manual.
